Funny Car King is a bootleg Cars toy made by Chang Qing.

Appearance

Lightning McQueen Version

This version looks like Lightning McQueen with light blue eyes and a white tongue. Its number can either be 95[1] or 96[2]. It's hood can either say "Rust-eze"[1] or "Happy Car"[2].

Mater Version

This version looks like Tow Mater with blue eyes and a solid teeth. On each side of it there's a sticker that says "Toys medicated" and "Rust-eze".

Sally Version

This version looks like Sally Carrera with light blue eyes and can come in red or blue. It has different stickers with "Rush-Soa" or with "Rust-eze"

Functions

When turned on, the toy moves around with bump and go action while moving its eyes side to side and its mouth up and down. Its eyes light up and its head lights and tail lights flash. The toy can either play My World by Sophie, Suerte by Shakira, Animal Fair, or Axel F by Crazy Frog.

The Mater version can move its eyes but can't move its mouth. It can swing from side to side, its engine moves up and down, and its eyes, headlights, tail lights, and engine light up. It can either play My World by Sophie or Chica Boom by Barbie Young and it's also speculated to be louder than the McQueen version.

The daredevil versions of Lightning Mcqueen are known to have played My World by Sophie, Animal Fair by 开心儿歌, and La La Love on My Mind by Ann Winsborn.

Sizes

The Lightning McQueen version can come in around three sizes:

  • Big - has two switches, one for the motor and one for the sound and lights. It takes four AA batteries.
  • Medium - has one switch for all the functions and takes three AA batteries.
  • Small - like the medium version, has one switch for all the functions and takes three AA batteries.

The Mater version only comes in one size (big).

Box Variants

There are 2 main box variants

  1. The Original Box Variant: This variant says Funny Car King on the sides and top of the box and says Lightning McQueen on the front of the box, Sometimes it has the Chang Qing logo on it. It also says Motor Driven on the front.
  2. The Newer Box Variant: This variant says Funny Car on the front and has 3 prototypes on it. This box was most likely made by another company.

Trivia

  • The Funny Car King on the toy's non windowed version of the box (Called "Funny Car" has a red tongue, a yellow mouth, and no eyes and numbers.
    • This may have been caused by the fact that the image of the toy is a prototype and edited to not get into copyright issues.
    • The box also shows blue and green variants of the toy that were apparently never made, these two alternate variants may have been supposed to represent The King and Chick Hicks, two characters from the first "Cars" movie.
    • Chang Qing might have not made this box and made another company distribute it instead.
  • A few variants of the Lightning McQueen version have been made in recent years.
    • Variants of all three sized McQueen's that were based on his daredevil appearance from the Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales short, "Mater the Greater" exist. There are also versions of the big and small sized variants that don't have rockets on the top.
    • A variant of the big sized McQueen in his WGP appearance from the second film "Cars 2" also exists. (Not to be confused with World Champion)
    • Variants of the big sized McQueen in the color schemes of the two characters Cruz Ramirez (Red and Yellow) and Jackson Storm from the third film "Cars 3" also exist, titled as "The World Of Car 3" on their boxes.
    • In later versions , the number 95 as well as the words "Rust-eze Bumper Ointment" on the Rust-eze sponsor logo, were changed to "96" and "Happy Car Speed King". These changes were done to most likely avoid copyright issues.
      • These changes have mostly been seen on recent models of both the big and small sized versions of McQueen.
  • The toy can be seen in Nintendrew's video "$5 Bad Game Challenge feat. Minus World! (Nathaniel Bandy, Charriii5, TetraBitGaming)". In the video, when Minus World were at Flea Land, Nintendrew can be seen holding a box for one.
  • There are also remote control versions of Lightning McQueen, Sally, and Mater.
  • There's a similar toy called "Super Racer".
  • There's a similar toy called "Happy Car King".
  • There's a similar toy called "Fire-Flag Paladin" (Also made by Chang Qing).
  • There's a similar toy called "World Champion".
  • There's a similar toy called "Dancing Music Wagging Car".
  • There's a similar toy called "Funny Car Lightining McQueen" along with it's other variants "Warmonger Combat Vehicles" and "Police The World Champion".
  • There's a similar toy called "Well-Known Funny Car".
  • There is a picture of tiny sally on the back of the tiny version's box.
  • Despite being called Funny Car King, Lightning McQueen is not based on a Funny Car.
  • If one were to put only three batteries into a Funny Car King, it can still run. however the lights and sounds won't work. It's not known if it works with the variants.[3]
  • There is a theory made by HexTheTankEngine18 that the Sally's were meant to play "Suerte" and the McQueen was a factory error
